Teaching by the research group

Members of the Research Group in Computational Linguistics teach several modules related to computational linguistics and language engineering, as well as provide support for other modules where computers have to be used for language-related teaching. The main modules taught are LN2000: Language and computers and LN3007: Translating by computers. Other modules where members of the research group in computational linguistics contribute are EG0003-EG0004: English Grammar and Academic Vocabulary and LN2005: Research Methods for Languages, Linguistics and TESOL.

We also provide supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate level. At undergraduate level, we supervise students who decide to take final year projects in languages, linguistics and TESOL (LN3000 for half year project and LN3360 for one year projects). A list of past undergraduate projects can be found here.

At postgraduate level, members of research group offer supervision in a wide range of ares of computational linguistics, machine translation and linguistics. For a list of research areas where we could provide supervision visit our Research page. Starting with the 2008 - 2009 academic year, the research group teaches an International Masters in Natural Language Processing and Human Language Technology

Members of the research group also teach tutorials at international summer schools and conferences such as RANLP conference series, EUROLAN summer school series and ROCOLI summer school.
